Jasmine Smith BSN, RN, OCN is originally from Steubenville, OH currently residing in Atlanta, GA. Her career began as a Nursing Assistant in Medical Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Shadyside hospital. With aspirations to advance her career, in 2014, she received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. Her dedication to helping others and making a difference led her to enlist in the 171st Pennsylvania Air National Guard. While serving in the military, she completed the intensive and rigorous Accelerated Second Degree Nursing program at Duquesne University. After graduation, Jasmine was deployed to serve a tour in Qatar. Following the completion of her tour, Jasmine moved to Atlanta, GA to begin her nursing career at Emory University Hospital as a Nurse Resident in the Bone Marrow Transplant department. She now practices as an Advanced Nurse Scholar at Winship Cancer Institute specializing in the medical oncological care of patients in an Ambulatory care setting. Obtaining a doctorate in nursing practice directly aligns with Jasmine’s clinical goals of acquiring a hospital based senior level position as a Chief Nursing Officer. Her educational interest include maximizing her potential to systemically optimize clinical operations while enhancing quality improvement within a hospital system. In her spare time, Jasmine enjoys running, traveling and being a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. She loves spending quality time with her family, boyfriend, friends and most importantly Jasper her cat.
